What a sailing shirt has to do
Sailing is hours of reflected sun with no shade and a breeze that hides how hot it is. A sailing shirt has to block UV on its own (ours are UPF 50+, roughly 98% of UVA/UVB), dry fast after spray, breathe in a dead calm and not flap in 20 knots. Our fabric is a lightweight polyester knit that wicks and dries in minutes; the loose cut lets air move and layers under foul-weather gear when the front comes through.
Long sleeve, hoodie or short sleeve
The long sleeve crew is the default for a full day on deck. The sun hoodie is what you want on a delivery or an overnight: hood up for the neck and ears at the helm. Short sleeves cover the dinghy ride in and the dock party. Every sailing design is available in all three.
The designs

From our Key West collection, Sails n Palms puts a sloop under the palms. All of it is printed into the fabric, so the design survives salt, sun and the crew’s laundry.
